VOLUNTEER Opportunities

volunteers

The Tullahoma Art Center offers many unique volunteer opportunities for people of all ages.  We rely heavily upon our volunteers as docents:  opening TAC during open hours, greeting our visitors, giving tours, managing sales, hanging art shows, cleaning the building and keeping the grounds manicured. We have formed committees including Marketing, Events, Membership, Fundraising & Grants, classes & Workshops. Please contact the center for more information.
You will receive all the training you need to be successful.  No experience is necessary

Please join us!  We can offer you a variety of fun, fulfilling ways to help, including both ongoing services and special projects.  We are grateful for our volunteers.  Make our community thrive by helping with exhibitions, events, classes and daily events! We couldn’t do it without you. Over 30 Volunteers assist us annually on everyday tasks ranging from event set-up and tear-down, distribution of promotional materials, and art education program support. Volunteers are particularly important for our many special events, especially American Watercolor Society Exhibit and Annual Arts and Craft festival. It is a chance to meet new people and learn about making art happen in Tullahoma!

Adult Volunteers

The Tullahoma Art Center is honored to have a dedicated and growing team of volunteers who perform many important functions. Volunteers are needed to help with many daily tasks such as reception desk, data entry, the gallery shop, special events and educational programs.

Student Volunteer Program

The Tullahoma Art Center also accepts and appreciates help from our younger community members! Dedicated and mature teens ages 15 and older are invited to submit application forms to be added to our roster of Student Volunteers. During the school year we accept teen and college students’ assistance for special events, birthday parties, Saturday workshops and family programs, as well as after school programs.

Summer Art Camp Volunteers

Each summer we also rely on the support of a full team of teen/college students volunteers as a part of our popular Summer Art Camp program. Camp volunteers assist our instructors in the classroom, setting up supplies, working with students to complete projects, clean-up, and monitoring breaks for the little ones. Our Summer Art Camp program is organized into 12 one-week sessions, and volunteers are asked to commit to a full week.

What Our Volunteers Do

Our volunteers help the Tullahoma Art Center flourish by doing a variety of tasks. Our volunteers wear many hats and continue an array of unique skill sets, so everyone helps out in their own special way. Some of the main undertakings our volunteers take on are:

Gallery Gift Shop – Our Gallery Gift Shop is an amazing addition to the Tullahoma Art Center and allows members and visitors alike to take home a little piece of the art center with them. But, as with anything, the Gallery Gift Shop requires helping hands to function efficiently. This is where our volunteers come in.

Exhibit Docents – The Tullahoma Art Center has several small galleries that are always changing to reveal fresh and exciting work from artists near and far. Our helpful volunteers often act as exhibit docents, personally guiding museum visitors around the various galleries and providing useful and interesting information on the artworks.

Event Volunteers – There is always something fun and exciting happening at the Tullahoma Art Center, so we rely on volunteers to help things run smoothly. We are always looking for volunteers who are eager to help out at one of our upcoming events!

Summer Camp – For 12 weeks during each summer, the Tullahoma Art Center hosts an exciting opportunity for kids and teens. During this time, we look for responsible and hardworking youths, age 15 and up to help out with the summer camp programs.

You are important to us!

We meet and interview all our volunteers to find out in what areas you are most interested and how you can be the most helpful. Please email us at tullahomaart.org to set up an interview time and bring the filled out volunteer application form with you.
